Hello Steve ,

Summary graphs in user defined .cfg not showing both graphs .
Please see attached .cfg & pdf of graphs showing this problem .

What appears to be happening is the secondary graph (ie: factor -100000) for interface errors has errors today , but none yesterday the summary does not display nor does it display statistics showing that errors have occured .

I beleive that this is due to the effects of , 'routers.cgi*Options[_]: active'
If there are no entries to plot across days of the whole graph , don't know how to precisely describe this , there will be no report nor graph .
Is there a method to limit the 'area' that 'active' covers ?

Tia , JimL

'active' usually refers to the visible data width; so if you have the 'active' option and there was data yesterday but not today, the variable will not be shown on the 'daily' graph.

It certainly doesnt look quite right. It may be due to the negative factor combining with the positive one on the other graph... I'd have to investigate more, but I'm in the UK now so not able to work on this for a few more weeks yet.

Still not sure, but I think it is because the 'active' check usesa the MAX RRA. If a value is always <0 this will mean the MAX returns 0 and so appears to be inactive.
However, I also note that your definition uses a negative Factor[]: rather than *-1 on the Target line so the DS should be stored as positive... do you think you could dump the .rrd file for the offending Target to XML and email it to me directly?
This is all rather awkward, and family problems are preventing me from doing much at the moment :( but I'll try and duplicate the problem here.

Thank you for responding . Fyi I am not severly worried over thie issue so you can take as long as you want . I am only interested in the problem not being accidentally forgotten . It is only a problem in that I know I have errors on the interface & when I goto the combined graph they do not appear , even in the summary text .

Do you want all three rrd's dumped ?
If so just for the effected period ? +/- 2-3 hours ?

When you have time to respond please do only then .
Twyl , JimL

I'd like all 3 RRDs, and complete (so I can load the XML into the system here for testing)
I don't think I'll have much time to work on this for a few weeks though, and might have to release 2.20 without addressing this problem other than listing it as a 'known feature' :)
I'll add a thread in the bugs forum.

Thanks, things are on hold for a few weeks though as I need to return to the UK for a while to deal with my father's funeral  . Blame the tobacco manufacturers who caused it :x
