Hi,
I luv this application!! Im currently running the bunndeled version of MRTG (routers.cgi Version v2.14beta7, MRTG Bundel v2.1) and ever since moving it from running on Server 2000 to 2003 we've had the Cron service crash (die) atleast every 2 weeks if not sooner.
Here is the error message in the Application Logs;

Faulting application Cron.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.2756, fault address 0x00015e02.

I have to restart the Cron service and everything starts running normally.

Has anyone else had issues like this???

We run under UNIX here, so I can't help out too much, but my first suggestion would be to see if you can upgrade the Cron package - the error message looks like a fault while it calls a kernel routine, so you may need a new verion linked for the 2k3 libraries. Microsoft is not good at keeping backwards compatibility, sometimes...

Will any win32 cron.exe suffice or should I look for a specific one?

Thanks for posting the solution here, hope it all continues to work. Loks like the issue was the file size becoming too big for the application's IO library.

I found that my Cron.log was over 2GB..
I created a batch file that runs once a month to clear out the cron.log file

echo. > C:\WINDOWS\system32\cron.log

This also appears to resolve the problem.
