Hi, I Installed MRTG bundle on windows 2000 server. When I updated router.txt file for 3 routers that i wanted to monitor, MRTG picked up all the interfaces on those router for monitoring, but not the CPU usage, how can i configure MRTG so that it monitor CPU usage as well for each router. Also how can i configure it to monitor only specific interfaces instead of all the interfaces on the router? Thanks in advance |

Use the host template for cfgmaker (in the cfgmaker forum) to get CPU monitoring and eveything else. You can also use the interface filter option to cfgmaker to select specific interfaces. However, it sounds as if you're using the MRTG bundle install, so you'll probably need to run cfgmaker manually for these devices as I dont think it allows you to specify additional options per-device Steve |

If you can retrieve the CPU usage as a percentage (whichyou can) then multiply it by the speed of your CPU. So, if your CPU is a 2GHz, just add ' * 2000000000' to the end of the Target line. To get the percentage, you can use either SNMP, or check_pnsclient with the NSClient++ agent. If you are using VMWare, look at the check_vmware plugin forum on this site. This has a local script (using vmwaretools) and a VIPerl one (that queries virtualcentre) to get the usage in MHz. |
