| Post subject: | newbie question - updating without cron |
Hello, I recently installed routers2cgi on a linux box and so far have it up and running. I noticed that after switching over to routers2cgi, and changing my .cfg to contain RunAsDaemon:yes and interval: 5, the graph specified is updating automatically. From the other documents I have been reading on the web, I was under the impression that a cron job was required in order for graphs to be updated. Am I wrong? Any advice/input is appreciated. Thank you |

If you have the RunAsDaemon option set, then the MRTG process remains active and re-polls devices every interval - therefore, you do not need a cron job. The routers2 script regenerates the graph on demand form the web browser, caching the images and only recreating them if they may have updated. |
