You have the choice of either
1) let your web server take care of authentication. In this case, routers2 does not need to know about how authentication is done, as the web server will tell it the name of the authenticated user.
2) Let routers.cgi handle the authentication. In this case, you need to put the definitions into the routers2.conf file so that routers2 knows how to authenticate.

You probably want to do (1). How you configure your web server depends on the web server itself. It sounds as if you have apache, and so read the Apache documentation on how to set up a htpasswd file (if you want password-file authentication), or use the mod_auth_ldap (if you want to use LDAP authentication). You will need to put the appropriate directives either ni your httpd.conf file or into the .htaccess file for the cgi-bin directory (if you have enabled AllowOverride Authconfig for that path)

i sure want to know if that worked cause i had a similar problem but didnt work.
