Grab package 1.9.1 and use this.

The 1.9.0 package is missing a required DLL - I had not noticed that I'm compiling with a slightly newer version of the C Compiler now, and so it requires a different DLL set . The 1.9.1 package should contain this missing DLL - unfortunately, with MSVC++ it is really hard to identify which DLLs are actually required. The missing DLLs tend to be installed by many other packages as well, so in most cases this omission was not noticed as the DLLs were already there. Its only on relatively virgin machines that they need to be added, like yours.

Sorry for any confusion caused by this - I tried to get the 1.9.1 uplaoded as fast as possible after the omission was identified.

Thanks for the quick help, but... I can't find 1.9.1 anywhere. I was searching but there is only version 1.9.0. Blindly trying to download 1.9.1 turned up a "file not found" error message...

Did I miss something?

v1.9.1 was only available on NagiosExchange.org. I've since uploaded it to steveshipway.org and so you should be able to obtain it OK. Sorry for any confusion...

I have installed 1.9.1 on two machines, but I still get this on one of them.
Don't know how to check for what is missing...

Well, things are getting worse for me...

I also get the same messages with 1.9.1 on Windows XP and Server 2003.

In addition to this I also get a new error message during installation:

I have the same issue. Version 1.8.3 worked on our systems, but 1.9.0 and 1.9.1 both yield a...

" This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. "

The reason I tried to upgrade was a bug with the "backup" NCSA server not saving the port number correctly. I can live without the nice little GUI if I can export the registry info from my working 1.8.3 installs to use with the 1.9.1. Do you know if that will work?

The problem is that 1.9.x are compiled with a later version of VC++ and so need later libraries, but depends.exe is not giving me the correct required modules list. Some systems will work as they already have the necessary shared DLLs installed, some won't. I've set up a virgin VM but no luck identifying all the modules so far - youd think that just running depends.exe on the running program would work, but it just reports the entire modules list from VC++, including such things as OLE.dll which I *know* I'm not using.

Now I'm back from LISA08 I can have another go at this - probably just add ALL the modules, one by one, until it starts working and I identify the culprit
