Is it possible to schedule by MM/DD/YYYY? Or something similar?

Unless I misunderstood how to use the web interface it seems like the plugin looks at the date and Day of the week to determine if the host shouldhave downtime scheduled. If that is the case, isn't it possible that the 22nd (for instance) could be on a Sunday in two different months?

I may want my host down on Sunday 08/22/2010 but if the 22nd falls on a Sunday in another month, won't downtime be scheduled for that month as well?

The scheduler is specifically for recurring downtime -- if you just want to schedule ONE downtime, then use the normal Nagios interface.

In the scheduler, you can specify a day-of month and/or a day-of week, and the downtime will be scheduled whenever BOTH of them match (so you can schedule something for the first Sunday of the month by saying 'day 1-7, sunday').

Thanks for the reply. So what would be the best way to do the 3rd Sunday of the month?

'day 15-21, sunday' will give you the 3rd sunday of the month, and 'day 22-28, sunday' will give you the 4th. There's no reliable way to get the last, though (although 'day 25-31,sunday' gets close but can miss out months with <31 days)

'Every nth week' would be very difficult to do, since it is a function of the previously scheduled date. The current code calculates if the schedule occurs in the next day by looking only at the current date and schedule rules, not the last known scheduled date (which may not be there, or wrong, or....)

So I am terribly sorry to bother you again, but I am not getting the results I am expecting to see.

I am attaching 2 images that show how I have it set and the result I am seeing in down time.
This is using nagios 3.2.0

I am trying to do a schedule for every 3rd sunday.
This capture shows I am attempting to do Sundays 15th through 21st.

Never mind. I just realized that you probably meant to use 15,16,17, etc not 15 - 21. I am brain fail.

You're right. I should have written it out in full to avoid confusion.

However, for the next version, I think I should make the scheduler support ranges specified like this, rather than just comma-separated lists.

Hello, it's me again. Sorry about bothering you, but apparently it's not working the way I expected. I was trying to schedule downtime for every 3rd Sunday of the Month.
