I'm getting the same error installing on a Windows XP Pro SP 2 box. Let me know what information you need me to gather. Thanks. Aaron |

Theres definitely a DLL missing in the package but I can't find which one. This is frustrating. The eventlog monitor doesn't use much other than the standard MSVC DLL, winsock2, and libcrypt. I've had this reported on XP and 2k3 but not on 2k or NT. It has never happened here, so there's something in our standard build that must include the needed library. I just wish Windows gave a more helpful error message (like 'xxx.dll not found' would help) Can you try running both the configration tool and the agent from the DOS command line and see if you get anything more helpful? There is a ZIP package on nagiosexchange.org which contains the relevant files plus some extra DLLs which may help. The agent can be run with the '-install' flag to install the service. |

I clicked Ignore until the error went away and the installation finished, then configured and started the service. I ran several tests and it seems to be working correctly in my enviroment. I'll be monitoring it closely the next couple of weeks. Do you have Windows Installer 3.1 (KB893803) update installed on any of your boxes? |

We run windows update and a weekly patch cycle, so if there are any updates theyve almost certainly been installed. It looks like the problem, then, is in the *installer* rather than the application. I'll check out at the website - Inno Setup Compiler. Thanks for the info, |

This problem has been traced to an issue in the installer, and has been fixed. The latest install package 1.8.3 which is on nagiosexchange.org should not have this problem - if you are using this version and still experiencing the issue then please let me know. There are also a couple of otherproblems currently being worked on with the help of some Windows experts (at least, more expert than I |
