Hi,

i try to install Windows EventLog agent on :
Win XP 32 bits
Win 2003 R2 32 bits
Win 2008 R2 64 bits
with C++ 2008 but il have always the error :

Microsoft visual C++ Runtime Library.

so, my question :
is Windows EventLog agent is correctly installed and fonctionnal ?

i don't receive the events on my NAGIOS server.

2k8 and 64bits will always be a problem.

The installation process tries to load in the default registry settings - this bumps up against the 32/64 bit issue and sometimes security settings. You /may/ have it installed correctly but it will need to be configured manually; or, it may be completely failed to start.

The NagEvLog agent is 32bit and so does not appear to reliably install or run correctly under 2k8 64bit. Some people have recompiled in a 64bit environment - the 64bit binary (untested by me and without an install package around it) is available for download in the same place as the normal install package.

Until I get a 64bit MS Visual Studio development environment to compile and test with, I cannot provide a 64bit supported version.
