Hi! I use Nagios to monitor my servers and syslogng as a central store of logs. Also I use "winlogd.exe" to collect event logs, convert them in syslog format and store them in syslogng. The problem is that now I need to analyse these logs with nagios. I use Windows Eventlog agent but I noticed when I ran it I didn´t receive events in syslogng. I want store them also in syslogng. Is there any solution? If not, how else could I do this? Another cuestion, Is there any way for analyze the logs of ISA Server with Nagios? Thanks |

The nagios eventlog agent is actually built on top of the ntsyslog code, so both should work together. There should be no problem in the daemons running together because nagevlog doesnt remove entries from the eventlog, it only keeps a pointer and reads new messages. I can't think of any reason that nagevlog would prevent a syslogng agent from also being able to process the messages. I dont know of anything to process IAS logs, but try checking nagiosexchange.org as there may be something there |
