Hello, We're using 1.8.1 on Win2k3. Most of the time, it works beautifully. On occasion, we get Nagios errors that do not resemble the original Event Log message. For example, Nagios recently issued this alert: Service Check Result: Application [error] [Application Error #1000]: Processing media-specific event for [???????????.... In this particular case, the EventLog message read: Faulting application nav_util.exe, version 3.0.0.3, faulting module nav32.dll, version 3.0.0.3, fault address 0x00005c14. While I don't have to have this fixed -- we get an alarm that says "go look at your server," which is better than silence -- we'd really like to know why this happens. Thanks, ==ml |

Are you using national language characters or double-byte chars? The nagevlog application doesnt (yet) support BDCS or non-extended-ascii representation - the Windows library calls it uses do not support wide characters. I need to update and recompile it to support wide which will be awkward as my version of MSVC doesnt help out either. This problem was reported some time back but (due to new family addition) I havent had time to work on it. |
