This is different from the one normally distributed, since it is a Perl script that works only with Postfix -- it counts files in various directories, which is much faster than forking off mailq and parsing the output.
Still not ideal, though -- it again needs sudo to get access to the Postfix directories. I suppose you could have a suid perl script but I don't like the idea of that!
Again, still in development before being properly released.
