Hello,

I have Nagios installed and running, I am very new to Linux and I have assigned a task that is. I need to monitor status of rss feeds of any news through the Nagios. What I mean is whenever a new news update happen then first rss feeds gets update and then nagios has to send me e-mail that new news updated. I am not worrying about e-mail notification part, but I really appreciated If you can help me to do this.

I suggest you check http://www.nagiosexchange.org to see if they have any relevant plugins available there?

They don't have anything related. That's why I posted here. I wrote perl script that read tad feeds update and if so it return 0 or else 1. Now can you help me to setup nagios use this script as service in local host.

You need to start with reading the Nagios documentation for check plugins. This gives all the details you need for configuring a new check_command.
