So I see in your downtime_job.pl script that some VARs are path specific. Would it be possible to have the downtime_job.pl script do a find to locate the files you are looking for? It would make the script easier to impliment without having to modify it every time a patch comes in.

Additionally, you could have the script look for a property file and if one exists, it will use the vals set in that. If one doesn't exist you could have it attempt to locate the files and create the property file. This would prevent the find from happening everytime the script is executed.

Just a thought.
