I think i found my mistake, the nagios cmd file location was incorrect.........
my bad it seems to be working fine now,

Hi , I just installed this nice utility to schedule our SAP and Oracle downtime. I implemented it and it shows up on my nagios interface and even fixed the SELinux problems but whereas it actually shows the downtimes schedules, it doesn't stop the notifications and the checks..... Is there a way to view logs or any infos that could help me fix this issue or actually see that the script is working . I'm running nagios 3.2.1 on CentOs 5 box. Here is my cron entry for the nagios user liek indicated in the comments: 01 * * * * downtime_job.pl > /dev/null 2>&1 everything seems to be fine in the nagios.log but i don't see the desired effects. You will probably have to give the full path to the script in your crontabs, else it will not be found. Redirecting all error output to null will hide any errors; do not use this initially while testing. Try running the script manually from the command line to test it and see if you get any error messages. |

I made the changes and ran it from the cmd line this is what i got: Reading in configuration Reading in status log to get list of services Reading in list of already scheduled downtime Checking for downtime due in next 10080 minutes ERROR: Invalid host DEV! ERROR: Invalid host DEV! ERROR: Invalid host PRD! ERROR: Invalid host PRD! ERROR: Invalid host SND! ERROR: Invalid host SND! Those are real hosts..... should i put their IP addresses instead, I don't really understand why it gives theses errors. thanks 4 the help |

I still can figure out why it gives this " invalid host " error.The script has to get that info from windows.cfg i assume so normally if the windows.cfg is correct it shouldn't give that error? Am I wrong? Any help would be appreciated Thanks |
