| Post subject: | check_tsm: Query TSM backup server |
I have a nifty check_tsm plugin that will check the log and database sizes, the TSM server itself, and the number of scratch tapes. There is a mrtg module that pulls back even more useful info about data storage, tape utilisation %age, and number of tapes on and offsite. The trouble is, it uses my TSM::Status Perl module set which is built over the top of the TSM/pm module. I have yet to finish this set of modules to a releasable state (for a start it omits all the update routines, and is a bit weak in some query areas). It also needs an admin username/password for TSM to be defined in the library, which is not ideal. So, I dont feel ready to post it for general consumption yet. Email me if you want a copy anyway... but you might have a couple of problems implementing. |

I think I may have uploaded it to the Nagios Exchange. However, it is in a bit of a difficult state, since it still requires a couple of things to be hardcoded for your site (such as the entries in dsm.sys to match your TSM server's hostname(s), and a default username/password with operator rights being set up, and so on) It also needs the TSM Perl modules installed with it, plus some extensions of my own. Once I get back to the office (currently on paternity leave) I'll look at it. |
