I have the plugin check_website working on a fedora 6 PC and I am able to monitor some sites with login. I tried replicate the same setup on a new fedora 8 virtual machine but it doesn't work. The check.log says it can retrieve the page but there is no text. What is the reason for that. I installed the perl LWP package and URI package. Can you send me a complete list of the packages to be installed? Can you tell me some possible reason for which it is not working? |

If the website has an https URL you'll need to install all the SSL modules as well. Try running it in debug mode from the command line and see if you get any meaningful error messages? |

The website has no SSL. Anyway SSL is already installed. I tried also to run it from the prompt but there are no errors. The only thing is that a word that is supposed to be there is not found by the plugin. I checked also the check.log in tmp and I see that, and this is different from the original PC, there is no text from the page that I am trying to retrieve, even if it says that the page was retrieved. The now PC is a virtual machine. Does it make any difference? Thanks a lot any way. |

Virtual or not shouldnt make a difference. You might like to check that word on the page doesnt have embedded tags and has the correct case for the match to work. Also, check the URL you are fetching actually returns the page - it might return a 302 redirect silently, so many browsers and even command-line GET ocmmands will silently follow the redirect and fetch the page, but check_website does not (unless you tell it to). |
