I've not tested downtime 2.2 with Nagios 3.x at all, and its very possible that there are file format differences between v2.x and v3.x that make it not work correctly. This [not found] means that downtime 2.2 was not able to verify that the host name specified is valid, which it usually does by parsing the objects cache file. Assuming that your cache file exists, it probably is not in the same format and so is not working... Ive never seen a 3.x objects.cache file to compare. This assumes that the host name really IS valid, of course... Sorry,but until I have a nagios 3.x system here to test against, I cant promise any compatibility with Nagios 3.x or do any testing against it. |

I think I got it to work on Nagios3.1 by changing the names of the files in the config from comments.dat and downtime.dat to status.dat. Question: Is there any way to set up a recurring schedule for a ServiceGroup? |

Currently, it only supports hostgroups, hosts and services. However, it should be relatively easy to make it support servicegroups - we just dont use them here so I've never added the command. I'll look into this as a feature request (but its a bit busy here now  )Steve |

It seems that downtime 2.2 is just not compatible with Nagios 3.x. I found hundreds of comments for the same downtime entries, repeated over and over. Had to uninstall it. |

It seems that it is not able to identify when a schedule has already been created. In nagios 2.x and 1.x, this is done by reading the downtime.dat file to find out what schedules are already in place. Porbably in 3.x, these are held in a different location or in a different format. I'll need to play with 3.x in oder to fix this one, I think. |

Hi, I have nagios 3.0.3 and just trying to get the downtime 2.2 installed, but I am not able to get it to work. I have noticed that the schedule.cfg needs to be created, but what needs to be included? Also the variable $HGCFG for hostgroup.cfg, does it require? Any way help is greatly appreciated. There is a new version of downtime, v3.0, which supports Nagios 3.x properly. The HGCFG doesnt need to be set for Nagios > 2,x or 3.x but Nagios 3.x uses a different way to hold the currently scheduled downtime. You can make a few small changes to v2.2 to make it work with Nagios 3.x but it wont work as is. I will post v3.0 to nagiosexchange soon, its been being tested here and Ive lost a month due to a road accident |
