This always causes confusion however I word it.
It means, from today back 1 calendar month. ie, if it is archived on 13th April, it is for the period 13 Mar -> 13 April.
The problem with previously saying 'last month' is that people thought it was the last calendar month -- ie, if run on 13th April, they thought it meant 1st March - 31st March, which is does not. Hence the 'rolling last month'.
Here, we run the RRD archive every night at 23:55. The expiry settings mean that we automatically keep a daily archive for the last 2 weeks, and the monthly archive (1st of each month) back for 2 years.
